Beaulieu, the new district in Chelmsford, where DWD provided strategic planning, site assembly and valuation advice to Countryside Properties and L&Q, has been awarded a coveted Green Flag Award.
The development which is set around the former King Henry VIII s Tudor Palace, and its estate parkland, the development is officially recognised as having one of the country’s best green spaces.
“We are delighted that Beaulieu has been awarded a Green Flag,” Barry Murphy, Partner at DWD said. “Planning a development which incorporates parks and green spaces allows people to enjoy the open areas. This was particularly important during lockdown.”
DWD works closely with Countryside; originally securing outline planning consent and helping secure the undergrounding of Overhead Lines and the relocation of Gas Pipeline through negotiations with National Grid and providing valuation advice to Countryside.
The DWD planning team continue to lead on the delivery of housing on site and has obtained detailed planning consent for over 1,200 new homes, the Neighbourhood Centre, significant areas of public open space and public art as well as the radial distributor road through reserved matters applications. DWD’s property team also assist and advise on strategic and valuation matters.
