The Planning Inspectorate has allowed an appeal for the change of use from offices to two self contained flats and a roof extension on Mare Street in the Clapton Square Conservation Area, following London Borough of Hackney?s decision to refuse the application.
The main issue was the effect of the proposed contemporary style roof extension on the Clapton Square Conservation area and the setting of nearby listed buildings, including a Grade I listed Tower.
DWD advised on the Planning Appeal and worked with the architect and heritage specialist to build a robust case to justify why Hackney?s decision was unfounded.
