DWD secures Development Consent Order for the 299MW VPI Immingham OCGT Project

Infrastructure & Energy

The Secretary of State granted development consent for the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project on the 7th of August. The power plant will aid the transition to a low carbon future by complementing and providing backup for other intermittent sources of electricity, such as wind and solar, in accordance with the relevant National Policy Statements. Dependent on a Capacity Market contract, construction could start in early 2021.

DWD covered all planning inputs and project managed the Development Consent Order process, as part of a wider team including AECOM, Pinsent Masons and Ardent.
