EXPERIENCE
Bridge Close, Romford
DWD have been instructed by a number of property owners in Romford affected by the Bridge Close regeneration scheme, providing both commercial and residential claimants with specialist compulsory purchase and valuation advice.
On 28th February 2018, the Executive Director of Housing and Land at the Greater London Authority approved entering into a contractual commitment to provide grant funding of up to £12.4 million to the London Borough of Havering to fund the proposals for development of the site which will deliver 1,070 homes, of which 35% will be affordable.
The Bridge Close scheme is one of many regeneration projects in Havering. Following a Cabinet decision on Wednesday 12 October 2016 to proceed with a Housing Regeneration Programme to build more than 3,500 new homes in Havering during the next 10 years, demolition notices have been delivered to around 900 properties. No demolition work will be starting on any of the 12 estates until late 2018, however acquisitions are starting now. This includes the following:
Waterloo Estate;
Maygreen Crescent and Park Lane Estate;
Napier House and New Plymouth House and;
Oldchurch Gardens Estate
