The Tees CCPP Project, Teesside

Infrastructure & Energy

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council

DWD is advising Sembcorp Utilities (UK) Limited on its proposals to construct and operate a new combined cycle gas turbine power station with a gross electrical output of up to 1,700 megawatts on the site of the former Teesside Power Station, which forms part of the Wilton International Site, Teesside.

As the project represents a ‘Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project’ under the Planning Act 2008, it requires a Development Consent Order (DCO) from the Secretary of State. DWD is part of the multi-disciplinary team assisting Sembcorp with the DCO application. The DCO application was submitted within 12 months of project inception.

DWD has provided strategic planning advice throughout the DCO process and produced the ‘planning’ related application documents, including the Planning Statement, Design and Access Statement and Consultation Report. DWD is also providing support to Sembcorp during the examination process.
